On Tuesday, ICCS was proud to host over 60 guests at the 2nd edition of the ICCS Forum: Implementing Sustainability in Southeast Asia’s Hospitality Sector, held at the National Design Centre in Singapore.
The evening opened with insightful speeches from ICCS President Gionata Bosco, the Ambassador of Italy to Singapore H.E. Dante Brandi, and Dawn Lim, Executive Director of Design Singapore, who highlighted that sustainability must be not only a strategic focus but also a moral imperative.
Two engaging panel discussions followed. The first, moderated by Luigi Mazzaglia, CEO of Vireo, explored eco-friendly practices in hospitality projects, featuring expert insights from Dr. Azizlam - Dean Forestry Faculty of University Putra Malaysia, Giovanni Cossu - Head of Sustainability at CapitaLand Development (CLD), Oh Chu Xian - Founder Magorium Pte Ltd, and Ankit Bhatia - Senior Sales Manager Comelit Southeast Asia Pte Ltd. The second panel, led by Professor Eunice Yoo Eun Jeung of Singapore Institute of Technology, focused on the role of technology in sustainability, with speakers Soh Jean - APAC Head of Business Development Vimar Asia Pacific, Farizan D’Avezac De Moran - GreenA Consultants, Board Member of SGBC, and Stephanie Lim - Head Market Transformation WWF, sharing practical approaches to efficiency and innovation in the sector.
Key Perspectives were shared by Andrea Tronzano, Regional Minister for Internationalization, Investment Attraction, and Economic Development, Piemonte Region, with his speech ‘Sustainability and Innovation: The Case of the Piemonte Region’
The evening concluded with the Sustainability Awards Ceremony, where The Sentosa Development Corporation was recognized with the GSTC Certificate presented by Vireo for its outstanding commitment to sustainable tourism.
A networking cocktail reception brought the event to a close, giving guests the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas.
