The ICCS attended the Designers’ Cocktail Networking session of the International Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS) 2009 on March 6th. The Furniture Design Award 2009 was assigned and Mr Naoto Fukasawa of Naoto Fukasawa Design, Japan, was the guest-of-honor.
On March 11th we attended the Furniture Design forum 2009 which saw the unique participation of one of the most famous contemporary designers, Karim Rashid. Mr Rashid talked about different aspects of life and work habits and offered a free understanding of the forces at play in what he refers to as the Globalandskape. On March 16th we attended the opening of the first Segafredo Zanetti café-bar in Singapore. The idea of opening a Singaporean branch came to Simon Seah, the managing Director, after seeing the café-bar in Tokyo. We wish him good luck in his venture and invite our members to check out his café-bar for a taste of real Italian coffee in Singapore. Pictures from the event are available on our Facebook page
