The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore in collaboration with Promos Milano has organized a Trade Mission of 10 Italian enterprises to Singapore and Malaysia from 22nd to 26th of June. The aim of the Mission was for the attendees to explore the market and for ICCS to promote and help Italian Companies to establish business collaborations with Singaporean counterpart.

4 Companies have attended as exhibitors at the Singapore International Water Week (www.siww.com.sg), relevant sectors were: water treatment technology, waste treatment, industrial membranes and systems and automotive. The Italian Companies were at European Pavilion, ICCS and Promos Milano booth no. R-30 R-32.

For the other 6 Companies (cosmetic sector, foundry industry, ironing equipment and machinery) ICCS has organized B2B meetings at Sheraton Towers Hotel as well as plant and site visit to Singaporean potential partners.

In Kuala Lumpur, the Italian Companies had the opportunity to meet Malaysian counterparts as well as Malaysian Institutions (MIDA).

The Mission was a successful event for the Chamber and another opportunities to enhance the collaboration with Promos Milano, Singapore Government agencies, EuroCham Singapore and EUMCCI. ICCS organized overall 100 one to one meetings in four days of activities.

Dear Members,

as soon as "Sapori d'Italia 2009" drew to a close a couple of weeks ago, the Chamber has been busy organising a Business Delegation from Milan.

Sapori d'Italia 2009 took place from 2nd of 4th of June at the Fullerton Hotel, and saw Italian food companies from Abruzzo and Veneto Region promote their products to local partners and to the public, getting excellent feed-backs from all attendees. We are looking forward to seeing these products on the shelves of Singapore stores soon!
The programme was concluded by a very elegant Abruzzo Night, organised to raise funds for the earthquake-hit region, that started with a concert by the internationally-acclaimed I Fiati Italiani, and followed by an exquisite Abruzzo dinner prepared by Michelin-starred Chef Spadaccini.
The Business Delegation from Milan had its focus on water treatment technologies and attended the Singapore International Water Week. The Chamber has organized their business meetings and is also proud to contribute to the proceedings of the conference programme by having Prof. Gandelli from the Politecnico di Milano University to address companies on renewable energies topic. Within the business Delegation, another group of six companies from different sectors will also join to find suitable partners in Singapore and Malaysia.

This busy schedule has been completed by a special meeting of the Board of the Chamber with Hon. Urso, Italian Vice-Minister of Economic Development, in town for high-level political meetings and heading a strong Italian business delegation. Mr. Urso found time out of his busy schedule to meet with us and hear from us about the Chamber's developments and future activities. Mr. Urso elaborated on the important role Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad play to promote bilateral trade, and specially thanked the Italian Chamber in Singapore for the hard work being done to promote Singapore to Italian businesses as a "Platform" for the region.

More exciting activities are already in the pipeline after the Summer break, and we will  inform you in due time.
